How it Works

ZipperBuddy MagZip  is made of two pieces that zip directly to the preexisting zipper on your jacket or hoodie. Simply match the zipper sides, zip them on, and enjoy the freedom to open and close your jacket with ease, thanks to hook-and-loop or MagZip technology.

Designed for Most Plastic Zippers​​

ZipperBuddy MagZip works with most plastic #5 zippers (like the YKK Vislon #5). After a one-time installation from a friend or loved one who can navigate zippers, you’ll gain independence to close your jacket with just one hand—whether you have full dexterity or not. No permanent modifications required!

Step-by-step Set Up

Attachment:

  1. Have a helper zip the right side of ZipperBuddy onto your jacket’s zipper.
  2. Then, have them zip the left side of ZipperBuddy onto the zipper.

1-Handed Fastening:

  1. FASTEN: Line up the soft squares of hook and loop, then slide your hand down to easily close your jacket with one hand!

How to Pick Your ZipperBuddy​

  1. Measure the zipper length on your jacket or hoodieMost folks prefer 22” or 24”—slightly shorter than the full zipper for best comfort and style.
  2. Check your zipper typeFlip the zipper pull to see if it has a #5 on the back and plastic teeth (see below to match yours).
  • Handmade with care
  • High-quality softshell fabric, hook and loop, and zippers
  • Softshell is 3-layer with a micro-fleece lining (98% polyester, 2% Spandex), waterproof and breathable membrane, and outer shell with a PFAS-free durable water-repellency coating (DWR).

​Hand-wash with mild detergent and lay flat to dry.
